The North Dakota State Bison football team has announced its captains for the upcoming 2023 season. The leadership council, selected by the team's coaching staff, consists of five players who represent the Bison's core values of hard work, dedication, and excellence. * **Hunter Luepke (Guard):** The fifth-year senior from Champlin, Minnesota, serves as a key piece of the Bison's offensive line. Luepke has started 33 games throughout his career and has been recognized as a First Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) honoree. * **James Kaczor (Center):** A fourth-year junior from Elk River, Minnesota, Kaczor is another linchpin of the Bison offense. He has 23 career starts to his name and has earned All-MVFC Second Team accolades. * **Will Mostaert (Linebacker):** A sixth-year senior from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Mostaert is a veteran presence on the Bison defense. He has recorded 167 total tackles during his career and was named to the MVFC All-Newcomer Team in 2018. * **Cam Pedersen (Defensive Back):** A fourth-year junior from Northfield, Minnesota, Pedersen is a dynamic playmaker in the Bison secondary.
