United Airlines Boeing 757 Loses Wheel During Takeoff

A United Airlines Boeing 757-200 passenger plane lost one of its main landing gear wheels during takeoff from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on Monday morning.
The aircraft, which was carrying 174 passengers and seven crew members, was bound for Denver International Airport (DEN) when the incident occurred. According to witnesses, the wheel fell off the plane shortly after it lifted off the ground.
The pilots of the aircraft were able to safely land the plane at DEN, where it was met by emergency responders. No injuries were reported.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the incident. A United Airlines spokesperson said that the airline is cooperating with the investigation.
This is the latest in a series of recent incidents involving Boeing 757 aircraft. In November 2022, a Southwest Airlines 757 made an emergency landing in El Paso, Texas, after one of its engines failed.
The FAA has ordered all Boeing 757 aircraft to undergo inspections of their landing gear following the recent incidents.
